Social media platform for Millennials and Gen Z
- Dreaming the next TikTok, aiming to be Asia¡¯s leading short-form video platform

“Wannabe is a short-form video based social media app providing a more user friendly experience for the inconveniences from vertical videos in previous services such as Instagram Reels and TikTok,” said CEO Lee Yu. “Instead of so much provocative content, you can upload content based on you daily life using your own narratives. It is the social media platform that represents Millennials and Gen Z the closest.”

The reality is that most teens, as well as people in their 20s and 30s, feel the previous short-form video content is repetitive. Wannabe provides a user experience in their platform where users can more naturally expose their daily lives.

“We maintain a content flow where users can participate during their daily lives and communicate with their friends by publishing our own content within the app every month,” said CEO Lee. “The participation rate is growing.”

“We are preparing to open servers overseas to go global with the current popularity of K-content such as K-pop and Squid games,” added Lee.
The experience Lee has is one of Wannabe’s strengths.

She studied communication and digital media design in college, and worked in various media content production fields such as independent film making, music video production, and interactive arts.

She started to have interest in content that actually reaches out to people and started her journey in the short-form video market based on her experience in UX/UI, branding, and content fields.

Lee plans to solve and innovate the problems that Instagram and TikTok have and become Asia’s leading short-form video social media platform.

She plans to open global servers in Asia such as Japan and Singapore within 2022.
Last September, GDP Studio applied to and was selected in the Global IR Project run by the Yonsei University Campustown Center to help companies wanting to enter the global market.

GDP Studio will get a chance to participate in the ‘A-STREAM’ event on November 8th, hosted by the global accelerator company Y&Archer.

Through this showcase, it will get investment feedback from foreign investors and will network with global and domestic VCs and institutions to get their support for a successful global market entry.

“We will promote our Wannabe service to global accelerators and angel investors while preparing to raise investment,” stated CEO Lee.
